In this story, we follow a group of teenagers after they've escaped a brutal terror attack on their town and school. The main character Casey is a great heroine for young girls! She is strong and focused, plus she faces her fears and takes a leadership role. It's easy to relate to the rest of the colorful and well portrayed characters. The author, Theresa Oliver, did a great job with an intriguing storyline. She made sure there were plenty of twists and turns for this band of determined kids...determined to get their town back and rescue as many people as possible!Final Thought: I'm excited to see where this series goes!

Just finished "Thou Shalt Not Kill" by Theresa Oliver and loved it! This book shows how people can change in times of need, yet still stay true to their values. It also shows how kids can make a difference, which I liked a lot. This book has many twists, but sticks to the original plot throughout the story. I would recommend this book for people who don't mind a little violence, as it does have some. It has a great lead that grabs your attention immediately and keeps it through the whole book, not once letting it go. "Thou Shalt Not Kill" shows rebellion, determination, love, action, and is sure to grab readers, pull them in, and not let go until the very end. I can't wait to read the next book!

Wow this book has it all from action to romance to adventure. When I first started this book I didn't know what to expect but It had me from the first chapter, then it was BAM just none stop! The love interests for Casey I thought would never end but I enjoyed that love triangle or square whichever you want to call it.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters some just annoyed me with their attitudes aka Trevor, but the book wouldn't be the same without him.
I highly recommend this book especially if you like Tomorrow, When The War Began but it is more intense and fast pace. Such a well written book!

What a great start. What a great premises. In the first few pages I was hooked and didn't put it down unti the end. What would you do if your country was overtaken by terrorists and you are placed in a position where you may have to take a life and that is against everything you've ever been taught. What about sacrificing your life to save others. Would you do it? A group of young catholic high school student must face that dilema and make some tough choices in Theresa Oliver riveting book Thou Shalt Not Kill. This book has a group of well developed young people having to face choices, establish new ranks, a mini government much like Lord of the Flies and having to make the tough decisions. The book continues to keep your interest page after page with the antics of these young people. There is action, drama, romance, suspense and thrills. Both young and older adults can enjoy this book. I give this book 5 stars.
When I first started this book I was like, oh no, she didn't go there with a school killing. But the more I read the more it hooked me and drew me in. I couldn't put it down. It's right up there with Hunger Games and I can even compare it to the novel Eve. I couldn't stop reading it, I can't stop thinking about it, and I just think it's fantastic. Casey as a lead is the total package of strong girl turning into a woman, yet vulnerable and moral. The way the kids ban together, are forced to grow up, face loss, perfect. And then there is the thread of Thou Shalt Not kill. The commandment, the morality, the inner struggle Casey feels and faces in practicing her faith and saving her friends and family. That is what sets it apart and makes it different, dystopian novels and kids facing challenges are big right now. But this book stands out.
Oliver wasn't afraid to let her characters face loss and grieve, she didn't shy away from the cold harsh reality of "war". She showed the internal conflict it takes to pull the trigger. It was real and raw, and didn't talk down to her target audience. Timely, yet not patronizing or hate filled. She kept surprising me with little plot twists, the pacing is perfect, the characters are all central to the story, and the plot line is believable. I never once thought otherwise. I was totally immersed in their world.
By taking the very real threat of terrorism and building it into a social experiment on a grand scale, and throwing kids into it as the heros, she has a winner. What sets it apart is the morality she built in. Real and honest and not preaching. Where would you stand if faced with the reality of pulling the trigger? It's not as easy as it sounds. Being a Catholic High graduate myself I really connect with the characters. I really honestly can not say enough about this book. Write More Publications is growing and moving, this book is paving it's path. I am definitely keeping this one and can't wait till my son is old enough to read it.
Great for a preteen or teenager. Not worth the time.
This novel has plenty of action and adventure to appeal to the most reluctant of teenage readers. The main characters struggle to retain their humanity as the world around them crumbles. There is some romance thrown in the mix and plenty of hot tempers. As the teens struggle to discern who they can trust among themselves and the outside world, the reader roots for them to succeed.
